Military Aviation Model
Aircraft

MUSTANG - North American P-51
This Mustang has been beautifully finished in what is
quite a colourful scheme for a military aircraft.

HAWKER SEA FURY
One of my favourite piston powered fighter aircraft, this
model is displaying the Royal Australian Navy Colour scheme. Unfortunately it's spinner
was off at the time of this photograph.

NORTH AMERICAN HARVARD
Known as the Harvard in British and Commonwealth
countries, this model should probably be called a T-6 Texon.

BOEING B-17 - Flying Fortress
Complete with exhaust marks, this one was a real treat to
see fly. This B-17G belongs to Ross Woodcock. The 3.175 metre wingspan model has 4 royal
46 two-stroke engines, 2 receivers, 13 servos. Functions include bomb bay doors. Weighs 20
kg and colours are of the 447 Bomber Group.

SU-27 Flanker
The aircraft in the foreground, This Sukhoi SU-27 is a
spectacularly finished model with a very professional paint job.

Mc DONNELL DOUGLAS F-15 Eagle
The aircraft at the back of this group, is finished in a
realistic combat grey colour scheme.

North American F-86 Sabre
Going back a bit in time to the previous 2 jet aircraft,
this Sabre was also very nicely finish.

MESSERSCHMITT Me 262
There was a large contingency of unusual German war planes
this year. This being one of them complete with twin ducted fans.

DONIER 335
This 3.66 metre wingspan machine has a Zenoah 62 engine in
the front and a ST 3000 running in reverse in the rear. I believe this model belongs to
Alan O'Donnell.

HEINKEL 219
This aircraft belongs to Brian Johnson. It has two OS 61
two-strokes, a wingspan of 2.64 metres and weighs 11.2kg. You should of heard this one fly
around with that sheet sound of these 2 engines.

Blohm und Voss BV-141A
This German observation plane is truly an unusual model
complete with a 7 cylinder radial engine in it. The actual aircraft was developed in
1938/39 to the Luftwaffe's specs to be armed and fly long range. In a testing competition
with Heinkel, the Heinkel 189 won out. Only (13) BV-141's were built, three prototypes and
ten pre-production units. It was considered the most unorthodox design of WWII.
(thanks Bill O'Neil & Brent Norman for Info.)
