| The weekend saw Quarter Midget
Competing on the Saturday morning and an FAI practice section in the afternoon. On Sunday
there was the FAI and Formula 400 racing together. The FAI Competition was one of the 3
selection trials to pick the Australian team for the World Championships to be held in
Bundaberg, Queensland during July/August 2001. In Quarter Midget, Andrew Davies won and set a
new Australian record of 58.4 seconds- AWESOME, Edie Rich
came 2nd, and I'm not sure but I think B. McKay came third.

Terry O.Connor's T-tail evolution wing with
Nelson FI

The Murphy clan certainly have their
Rossis sorted out (1.05 Beau), while the Barry has
finally joined the sub 10 club. Ranji and his RPM engine, new molded wing
set fastest time of the day with a 1.02- well done Ranjit- He's looking good for the
Australian team for the next world champs
Below is a frame by frame of the start of one of the
races that Ranjit Phalan, Gary Davison, Mike Kellet and one other flew.
There are also some nice landing shots of Ranjit's model. |

Macus and Vern with their F400sIn F3D Ranjit Phelan came first, Beau
Murphy - second, and his father Barry Murphy
third.
Fastest time Ranjit 62.seconds, in F400 Andrew
Davies fastest time - 72 seconds!
Some very quick FAI models around these days, namely Terry
O.Connor's T-tail evolution wing with Nelson FI also Eddie Rich's
Nelson FI powered model was extremely quick also the MB powered models of Bernard,
Kierans' and Ian's were quick until the ground jumped up and
grabbed Kierans' model while Ian and Gary
Davisons' models decided to dance the tango.
